What does healing mean to you?
In the past year we’ve experienced a pandemic, an economic downturn and historic uprisings— the latest results of long standing inequities. Some Chicagoans are not only working to mend those wounds, but also disrupt the cycles that produced them in the first place.
We’ve been spotlighting this work through our How A Community Heals reporting series. This month at the Public Newsroom, we’ll hear from artists and organizers invested in community care, mutual aid and healing featured in those stories. Panelists will discuss why they center healing and collective care in their work, and why others involved in social change should too. How can we best equip ourselves and others to address trauma? How can personal healing translate into community care and, in the long term, liberation? Join us to hear from:
