Sustained Impact Journalism on Chicago's South & West Sides: The beat is dedicated to holding public officials accountable to their communities, a "reporter for the people" covering civic happenings in the city, and building resources and guides with solutions related to housing, public services and other political issues, with a focus on underserved South and West side communities. Guided by a high level of community engagement, this beat will report on the key issues Chicagoans want answers and solutions to.
